January 9 - Mister Seahorse, by Eric Carle
Starring Mr. Seahorse — who grows Mrs. Seahorse’s eggs inside a pouch in his belly — Carle’s look at sea creatures follows the hero as he floats through the water, talking to other fathers along the way. After the story we will paint a seahorse.
January 16 - Alice the Fairy, by David Shannon
Alice has a nose for trouble, but luckily she’s a fairy—a Temporary Fairy. She has a magic wand, fairy wings, and a blanket, all of which she uses to disappear, to fly, to transform her dad into a horse, and to turn his cookies into her own! After the story we will paint our own fairy.
January 23 - Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, by Bill Martin Jr., Eric Carle
Blue Horse, Blue Horse, What do you see? I see a green frog looking at me. Join us through bear’s adventure and paint a bear bank after the story.

Kids of all ages will love this book about what people think when you look different on the outside. After the story, we will have our own tea party by painting an espresso cup and saucer.
February 6 - Clifford, I Love You
A perfect story to read just before Valentine’s Day. After the story we will paint a small heart bowl or an “I Love” mug, you choose.
February 13 – Dinosaur Pizza, by A. J. Wardlaw
It's the first day of school. It's the worst day of school.... When Jill's best friend moves away, she's left all alone. Then Bobbi Jo asks her to join the Lunch Bunch, a wacky group of kids who bring different and unusual lunches each day. All these changes can be fun -- especially when you wind up eating Dinosaur Pizza! We will paint a Pizza Plate that you can eat off of!
February 20- I Like Myself, Karen Beaumont, David Catrow
This curly haired moppet really likes herself. No matter what she does, wherever she goes, or what others think of her, she likes herself because, as she says, "I'm ME!" We will paint a picture frame.
Session 2: Feb 27-Apr 10
February 27 - A Bad Case of Stripes, by David Shannon
Camilla Cream loves lima beans, but she never eats them. Why? Because the other kids in her school don’t like them. And Camilla Cream is very, very worried about what other people think of her. In fact, she’s so worried that she’s about to break out in...a bad case of stripes! After the story we will paint an ice cream dish.
March 6 - Ducks in Muck, by Mori Haskins
Ducks in muck. Ducks stuck in trucks. Trucks stuck in muck. How will the trucks and ducks get unstuck? Discover what happens to a group of friendly ducks when they play in the muck and then are taken away in a truck! After the story we will paint a very duck bank.

March 20 - Lottie’s New Beach Towel, by Petra Mathers
A chicken enjoying a day at the beach? Only Petra Mathers could create such a scenario with such color, charm and warmth. Inventive to be sure, Lottie’s imagination helps her turn her new beach towel into a number of useful objects throughout the day. After the story we will
paint a sandal picture frame.
March 27 - Blue Sea, by Robert Kalan

After the story we will paint a plate.
April 10 - All By Myself, by Mercer Mayer
Little Critter shows us all the things he can do by himself, from tying his shoes to pouring his own juice. We’ll paint a juice cup after the story.
